The Folk Project Streaming Tuesdays concert series presents Annette Wasilik
Annette began writing songs at 14 after finding a Sears Silvertone in a tin wardrobe in her basement. “Songwriting is like diving for pearls,” she says. “I sink down and let my emotions lead into melody, then phrasing, then lyrics. Later the editing comes in.” Her debut album, Songs from the Talking House, won Contemporary Folk Recording of the Year from the Washington Area Music Association. Her 2020 release, Love & Fire, debuted at #6 on the FolkDJ chart, #1 on NACC, and ranked #40 for the year. She also curates “Local Cream,” a popular series featuring top local and touring songwriters.
